Durga Puja is the biggest festival for bengalis everywhere. For us, it is the biggest and grandest event organised every year and our celebrations continue for 5-6 days. Ours is the biggest Puja organised in Gurgaon with footfall crossing the 10K mark every day. Over 1200 devotees take part in the Community Bhog daily and our cultural evenings are witnessed by an audience of close to 2000 people. This year, we organised Durga Puja at a small scale with minimum devotees, keeping in mind the safety of all. We depended on technology to bring the rituals and festivities to our members with the Puja and Cultural events shown live on Facebook. We also distributed Bhog at the doorstep of our members.

‘An anchor keeps the vessel from drifting away’. Similarly, the anchor or emcee at an event keeps the audience engaged in between performances. Anchoring at Durga Puja cultural event is not an easy task. With so many performances lined up, keeping the interest of the viewers alive, falls upon the shoulders of our anchors. The best part is that our members never ever disappoint us. We are blessed to have such wonderful and enthusiastic members who are always ready to don the hat of an anchor and successfully lead every event of ours.
